German Business Confidence Up For Fifth Straight Month

German business confidence improved for a fifth consecutive month in September, riding on optimism that the operating conditions of firms will continue to flourish amid the strengthening economic recovery, the results of asurvey by the Ifo Institute revealed Tuesday.
The Ifo business climate index edged up to 107.7 in September from a revised reading of 107.6 for August. The improvement was smaller than estimated by economists, who, on average, expected a reading of 108.
