Does Austerity Kill? A Look at 17,679 Things the Federal Government Has Done Since Sequestration.

Sequestration is back on the agenda and so is anti-austerity hysteria. Over at Politico, they're quasi-blaming the Navy Yard shooting on cuts. The president of MIT says sequestration is "choking the innovation economy." The Center for American Progress frets that "austerity kills." And The Atlantic says cuts are "undermining what makes America great."
To help understand what American austerity really looks like in 2013, we've helpfully listed the 17,000+ entries from the Federal Register ("The Daily Journal of the United States Government") since sequestration took effect on March 1, 2013.
Not everything on the list is wasteful, of course. But is this a snapshot of a government cut to the bone?
Feel free to comb the list and highlight your favorite vital programs in the comments section.
Here are a couple of my picks, just to get your juices flowing:
- A new rule to test the blood of train conductors involved in accidents for the presence of antihistimines.
- A second review of an antidumping order pertaining to folding gift boxes from China.
- Official notice of the closure of a 22-mile stretch of rail near Kokomo, Indiana, that hasn't been used for the last two years.

Well, I notice there are several "Sunshine Act" meetings.

Start working at home with Google. It's the most-financialy rewarding I've ever done. On tuesday I got a gorgeous BMW after having earned $7439 this last month. I actually started five months/ago and practically straight away was bringin in at least $74, per-hour. visit this site right here http://www.Pow6.com

Nothing.
Left.
To.

Thank God the government still has the funds to protect us from cheap ribbons!
Hey, hey! Those aren't just any "cheap ribbons" those are Narrow Woven Ribbons With Woven Selvedge. I, for one, am grateful my government cares enough to protect me from such a peril!
Did you ever see the definition of macaroni? I copied it down a while back, it may have been improved since, or it may have suffered bit rot thanks to sequestration.
Here
At 21 CFR 139, Subpart B, Section 139.110 (look it up and read the whole thing; it's worse than you can imagine), macaroni is defined as "the class of food each of which is prepared by drying formed units of dough made from semolina, durum flour, farina, flour, or any combination of two or more of these, with water and with or without one or more of the optional ingredients specified in paragraphs (a) (1) to (6), inclusive, of this section."
The shape. "Macaroni is the macaroni product the units of which are tube-shaped and more than 0.11 inch but not more than 0.27 inch in diameter."
Spaghetti and Vermicelli are also considered macaroni products. Spaghetti is "tube-shaped or cord-shaped (not tubular) and more than 0.06 inch but not more than 0.11 inch in diameter," and vermicelli is "cord-shaped (not tubular) and not more than 0.06 inch in diameter."
Egg whites must make up at least 0.5 percent by weight of each noodle, but no more than 2 percent.
The protein content of macaroni products is capped at 13 percent.
If you dont think the government should spend money on Narrow Woven Ribbons With Woven Selvedge From Taiwan: Rescission, in Part, of Antidumping Duty Administrative Review, then you just want to live in Somalia.
what kind of racist are you that pokes fun of such substantial legislation?
This kind of derision levied towards valuable government programs is indicative of the hatred that has been fomented by the tea party crowd and is thus leading to the random violence.
Respect your ribbons and all this shit will go away.

No Chinese box dumping!! How dare they supply us with cheaper goods.
I for one will not stand for any more cheaper products from other countries. It is imperative that we spend more of our disposable income on like widgets made here so that we cannot afford to employ others with our otherwise realized savings.
Once we get this dangerous ribbon situation under control, there will be no more killings either.
I dated an 8 year old named Woven Selvedge from Taiwan.
tl;dr

That's something you might want to put BEFORE the link.
Now this is just gross!!! Please tell me this isn't what I think their saying. Even though they have proof there is infectebility in the small intestine of BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy), it's approved to use it in human consumption anyway.
Did I read this right? Please read the whole thing. WOW
They said the 'word' is too long (ughhh) I'll try breaking this website down into sections using === . Don't know what else to do. Spaces didn't work. You'll have to take them out. Sorry.

Never heard of such a thing.
My heads hurting really bad, so I'm hoping I've read this wrong.
Your tax dollars at work! The blue box on right actually has a shorter URL! https://www.federalregister.gov/a/2013-04869
I can finally be proud of my gov't! Providing a service I would have never thought needed to exist.
Thank you 🙂
MAD COW DISEASE and they let us eat it? I already vowed to stop eating anything I know isn't from US food but this is crazy! Aldi's grocery store found out that their frozen dinners had Lazagna had horse meat in it. Some of it was found to have 100% horse meat! We have enough food here so why do companies need to buy food in countries we cannot trust? China is not a country I want to buy food from! Rice, yes but not anything else and certainly not meat! I don't prefer to eat dog, cat, horse or rat! THey throw dead pigs in their rivers and they have been found to be very contaminated. When you make food, it takes water so NO THANKS!!! haha
And a spreadsheet like that without a column for "dollars spent normally" and "dollars sequestered" is worthless.
my roomate's mom makes on the internet. She has been out of a job for six months but last month her paycheck was just working on the internet for a few hours. browse this site......

I can't find it now, but I noticed one of the entries contained the phrase "GOING GALT". Did anyone else happen to catch whatever this was about?
It's the only way to go.
