Intuit Contest Could Inadvertently Lead To Super Bowl's First Marijuana Commercial
When Intuit, the software giant behind Quicken and Quickbooks, launched a small business contest for a free ad in the 2014 Super Bowl, the company may have gotten more than it bargained for.
The rules of the contest are simple: get the most online votes for your small business and you become a finalist to win a professionally produced commercial and a coveted Super Bowl time slot. The possible outcome is not so simple: a win for marijuana policy reform group NORML, which would air the first pro-pot commercial in Super Bowl history.

The NFL is home to bigger statists than the DEA. No way this flies, forget about it.
Aren't there regulations that prevent media outlets from discriminating against the content of ads (so long as the content isn't classified as "offensive" under other regulations)? If so, the statists may have to swallow this one.
I'm sure there's an exception for ads that promote illegal drugs.
The ad won't promote the drug. It will merely promote a particular piece of legislation that happens to deal with the drug. Or something like that. Hell, if the FCC or someone shoots it down maybe this will make it to SCOTUS... so they can reprise their roles as the Cleveland Browns.
I have no idea, but I bet the network has enough discretion to shitcan any Super Bowl ad it doesn't like.
I would almost bet the house that the NFL never allows this. They are the one of the biggest bunch of nanny state assholes in existence.
"And the best part is, you don't have to waste a lot of time managing expense categories, because the IRS will disallow them!"
Didn't "THEY" manage to bounce the pro-marijuana billboard ad across from the Speedway during the Brickyard 400?
