The Paranoia Roundup
Conspiracy clips.
For some reason I completely forgot to tell this blog's readers that I wrote a book called The United States of Paranoia. I'll be giving a talk about it at the Cato Institute today, and if you live in the D.C. area you should come by and ask me tough questions; the rest of you can watch it live here.
Meanwhile, here's a roundup of coverage the book has gotten this week:
• The Fajita Fun Time Radio Show interviewed me.
• Jonathan Kay reviewed the book in The American Conservative. Kay is the first writer to focus on the book's libertarian elements. Pullquote: "Jesse Walker is a deep political thinker, but he evidently also has spent much of his life watching some extremely bad movies."
• Lucy Steigerwald reviewed the book in The Libertarian Standard. Yes, that's the same Lucy Steigerwald who used to work here at Reason. Conspiracy?

Lucy Whogerwald?
DON'T TALK ABO... never mind.
"They didn't even blame any right-wing pundits for the schooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school!"
Oh, Lucy.
You wrote a book? YOU wrote a book? How did you escape the Reason Magazine slave pens long enough to write a book?
He didn't. This wasn't even posted by JW. You're succumbing to the plotters.
Although to be fair, if he was deliberately trying to destroy the economy, it's hard to think of what he would do differently.
"it's hard to think of what he would do differently."
Exactly. However, I don't think he wants to destroy it so much as re-make it into something closer to a social democracy. No doubt the thinking will be, "we had to destroy capitalism in order to save it."
Next your going to tell us this "Lucy" character walked on the Moon and her presence in Dallas nearly 50 years ago was just an innocent "coincidence".
From the American Conservative article.
Jesse Walker is a deep political thinker, but he evidently also has spent much of his life watching some extremely bad movies.
He's got you pegged Jesse. And thanks for letting us know you wrote a book.
BTW didn't I see Stossel quote Lucy on one of his shows?
