Poll: 58% of Americans Disapprove of Obama's Handling of Foreign Policy
As President Obama prepares to address the nation tonight to build support for airstrikes against Syrian military targets, he faces a war-weary American public disappointed in his handling of foreign policy and overall job performance.
According to the latest Reason-Rupe poll, more than half, 51 percent, disapprove of the president's recent job performance, and even more, 58 percent, disapprove of Obama's handling of foreign policy.
President Obama's general approval rating is down seven points since the May Reason-Rupe poll, dropping from 50 percent approval to 43 percent approval.
President Obama also faces a public concerned about the direction of the country, with 61 percent telling Reason-Rupe the country is headed in the wrong direction.
