NATO Chief Says Syria Strike Would Not Have to Further Involve the Alliance

Because the proposed strikes will be limited

VILNIUS, Lithuania (AP) - NATO's chief says a U.S. strike on Syria would not require deeper NATO involvement because it would be a limited operation.

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said Thursday the use of chemical weapons demanded an urgent answer from the international community but said a response from one member nation would likely be restricted to "a short, targeted, tailored military operation. And for that you don't need the NATO command and control system."
