I have an article up at the Libertarian Republic on the often controversial rapper Lupe Fiasco's response to Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse that came via a tweet at the president. An excerpt:

Fiasco is no stranger to controversy and holding views that may not be typical of mainstream rappers. In 2011 he called Barack Obama "the biggest terrorist," leading to an amusing O'Reilly Factor segment that had Fox News' Bill O'Reilly defending Barack Obama and his foreign policy against Lupe Fiasco's criticisms. Earlier this year, he was booted from a pre-inauguration show in DC. He had spent half an hour rapping anti-Obama, anti-drone lyrics. Rapping against the president isn't as popular now as it was when George W. Bush was in the White House (see Jay-Z's "My President is Black" vs. Eminem's "Mosh Pit"; the Blue Scholar's "Hussein" might come closest to anti-Obama rap, but not quite).

Lupe Fiasco actually locked his Twitter account after expressing opinions on the George Zimmerman verdict (that the rule of law is not based on emotions but reasonable doubt) that caused a bit of a backlash from some of his fans.
