Ted Cruz's Father Says There is a Link Between Gay Marriage and Socialism
Made the comments at the Family Leader's Summit in Ames, Iowa
Ted Cruz's father Rafael Cruz spoke to the Family Leader's Summit in Ames, Iowa over the weekend, comparing President Barack Obamato former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, and warning that the United States was chugging toward socialism via gay marriage.
"Socialism requires that government becomes your god," Cruz said. "That's why they have to destroy the concept of God. They have to destroy all loyalties except loyalty to government. That's what's behind homosexual marriage."
Editor's note: This post's headline originally incorrectly stated that Mr. Cruz believes there is a link between socialism and gay sex.

But your headline says a link between gay sex and socialism. Do you have the quote about gay sex or what?
Cosmotarians just hate Ted Cruz. They're afraid he'll take the nom away from "libertarian-republican Chris Christie".

Honestly, I was pretty much with him up until the part about gay marriage, and I can see how he would think that, coming at things from the angle of a conservative pastor. Socialists do want to destroy the family and the church and replace them with the state. But I don't think that is the aim with gay marriage, and if it is, I think it will backfire.
