NSA Includes Canada, Mexico as Part of "Homeland" for Terror Prevention Claims
As seen at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing
American reporters appropriately had a 'wait, what? moment' on Wednesday during a Senate Judiciary committee meeting.
Senator Diane Feinstein, the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, was defending the National Security Agency's top secret spying when she brought out a prop identifying North America — the United States, Canada and Mexico — as the "Homeland".

"Homeland" is just as bad as Fatherland or Motherland. I remember bad made for TV movies in 70's and 80's that portrayed an Amerika where we had lost our freedom and now were the Homeland and/or had midwest as "Heartland". So now we are living in a bad 1980's mini-series.
The worst part is that the majority of people reflexively believe the government's claims, as if they haven't already been proven outright liars again and again.
True, that's terrible, but it's not the worst part. IMO, the worst part is that both parties are shoveling this BS. Feinstein is one of the most liberal left-wingers in the Senate, and you have extreme right-ring politicians who are taking the same position. Unless you want to get hung up on phony policy issues like abortion or whether or not Christmas scenes belong in public places, there really ISN'T a dime's worth of difference between them now, including on spending. That's why it's time for new ideas -- like Libertarianism.
I'd like to see ANYONE from the Libertarian camp call these fuckers out, just once.
Awesome, does that mean that we're lifting the Canadian border restrictions and making it like it was in the old days again?
Nope, but you can expect checkpoints at state borders any time now. Think I'm kidding? Just wait another year or two...
No, I don't think you are kidding. TSA has that VIPR thing already. Planning that trip from Cali to Las Vegas. Prepare for strip search and seizure.
This is Progressive-War-Profiteer, Nazi-Police-Statist, Elected-For-Life-By-California-Democrats Feinstein, not Ron or Rand Paul that is turning America into Amerikka.
Here's the pretext for military occupation of Mejico.
