Forbes Apologizes for Saying Irish President is Gay

DUBLIN, Ireland, July 25 (UPI) — Forbes magazine has apologized for a story that called the long-married Irish president, Michael D. Higgins, an open homosexual.

David Monagan, the author of the story, also apologized, calling the mistake the worst he has ever made, the Irish Independent reported. Monagan, a U.S. citizen, works in Cork, Ireland.
