VA Governor Insists He's Not Resigning
Amidst swirl of corruption rumors
Gov. Bob McDonnell's office on Monday categorically denied a report that he is resigning.
"It's false," Tucker Martin, the governor's communications director, told Watchdog.
But Willie Deutsch, a Republican blogger, maintains that McDonnell will step down soon.
Deutsch, who writes for the conservative political website, Bearing Drift, suggested Saturday that the Virginia governor was quitting ahead of "pending corruption charges."
Deutsch told Watchdog when he heard of the resignation claims on Saturday, he was told that the resignation was something definitely in the works, possibly by the end of the week.
