Sting caught cop regularly taking free stuff, says he's broke
A broke Chicago police who allegedly made a habit of helping himself to chips and soda without paying for them at a West Side liquor store found himself the target of an unusually sad federal sting.
Now Sgt. Ray M. Ramirez is looking at up to 20 years behind bars if he's convicted of extorting the store's owner in a series of petty scams, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
