Former Head of the NAACP Says Tea Party Groups Deserved To Be Targeted By the IRS
Says the Tea Party is the "Taliban wing of American politics"
According to NAACP President Emeritus Julian Bond, the Tea Party deserved to be targeted by the International Revenue Service because it's the "Taliban wing of American politics."
"I think it's entirely legitimate to look at the Tea Party," Bond said during an interview with MSNBC's Thomas Roberts on Tuesday. "Here are a group of people who are admittedly racist, who are overtly political, who've tried as best they can to harm President Obama in every way they can."
While Bond was furious at the IRS when the agency targeted the NAACP back in 2004, he said he does not consider his comments a "double standard at all."
