Jay Carney Being Questioned About All the White House Scandals
Today's press briefing at the White House started more than half an hour late but it's started. No announcements at the top so press secretary Jay Carney went straight to the AP for the first question, which was about all the White House scandals (Benghazi, the IRS' political targeting, the AP's phone records being seized).
Watch Carney dodge here:

Two words: Shit Weasel
I do not envy this man.
How the fuck he sleeps at night baffles me.
I'm sure he sleeps just fine. Morality-free political scumbags usually do, especially when they're at the top.
You're probably right. That's the most pathologically sad part about him.
Maybe he's a power bottom.
Does power have to do with size or strength of the bottom?
No.
Now nicole, I heard speed has something to do with it.
I may be small and weak but that has nothing to do with my backshot!
I watched "Mars Attacks" last weekend.
Jay Carney was played perfectly by Martin Short.
BO was played perfectly by the leader of the alien invasion.
He sleeps like a baby because he's doing what's right. The chattering nabobs are just speedbumps in the road to the Great Leader's shining utopia.
"I simply cannot get into ...."
Then why hold this effin' "press conference"?
His responses are so stiff and limited that he might as well be replaced by an automated customer support computer. I saw some tech news about an airline working on a life size, 3D ticket agent robot, which has to be at least as lifelike as Carney.
Just turn the teleprompter toward the crowd?

NTSB Recommends Easier Fundraising from DUI's.
Carney and Obama appear to be taking lessons from the same hand gesturing coach.
So much talking. So little said.
Blah, blah, blah, Fox News, blah, blah.
"I don't think you want the president acting on outrage of something that might not turn out to be true."
Anyone who did so would have acted stupidly.
Jesus this guy........
See Mr. Obama's calm, reasoned response to Mitt Romney's suggestion that Sesame Street not need public funding.
And the entire premise of the recent gun control push.
You mean getting all pissed that somebody would create a video causing Muslims to riot?
"Mr. Carney, would the President -- in a gesture of good faith and transparency -- be willing for the rest of his term to hold all his unclassified meetings in a public forum?"
Cluing the public in on anything simply is not proper transparency.
Maybe they should call in Ari Fleischer from the bullpen for lil Jay . Ari had good press conferences and was harder to fluster. The press despised Fleischer and he looked at them with contempt. That is how press/ government relations should be. I'd rather look at Dana Perino though, she warms my dark middle aged heart.
Ed,
Headline check.
It's Ebonics.
Ed wants to put y'all back in chains!
Thanks!
Bitte.
What Senator Obama said is different than what President Obama did? That's hard to believe!
When you've lost Chuck Todd, well.
Still, WELCOME TO THE PARTY CHUCK, YOU FUCKING PARTISAN WEASEL.
No shit... When Chuck Todd took over as the NBC White House Correspondent during the 2008 campaign season, for nearly six weeks I thought he was the press secretary for the Obama campaign.
"Hmm, he sure says some mean things about Hillary. Does Obama really want work that negative?"
Of course Obama has done everything just as he said. It's just the meaning of words that have changed.
Every word it true!
It's when they get strung together in sentences that the lies begin.
Chuck Todd is about to be looking down the business end of an IRS audit.
He must have a death wish for his career or something?
I'm deaf. Do they have a CC option for this. I can see him dodge, but I want to know why he squirms.
It's pretty much happening exactly the way you would think. The only surprise is that they're asking questions in the first place.
Last up was Chuck Todd asking about the differences between what candidate Obama said and Senator Obama legislated for, and what President Obama killed. It was with regard to having a third party check on what the administration claims is a national security issue.
Is this something that would be on C-SPAN with CC?
(I don't own a television.)
I don't see one, Waffles. Apparently the White House doesn't give a damn about our hearing impaired citizens.
It looks like they do transcripts later. Captioning these things real time would be a sequester-buster.
That's probably true.
The reason 24/7 twitter fdeed does a good job of transcribing Q and A's

YOU GUYS IN THE PRESS DIDN'T LOOK INTO THE IRS COMPLAINTS, EITHER.
Actually, some of them did, but they were shouted down by the rest of the MSM as crazy FOXNEWS Christfags.
Some other than Fox News? Good on them, I suppose. I only remember it as being reported by Fox, maybe WSJ.
"...the IRS should not be politicized."
It's a little late for that Carney. Your boss now carries the same fame as Nixon and Clinton.
Fishing expedition? I thought the POTUS was a golfer, instead.
I can't watch this now, but all I can say is: please, PLEASE let there be a feeding frenzy. Please.
There actually seems to be one brewing. At least one directed at Carney.
That's fantastic. Because once these get going, they generally can't be stopped.
Robert Gibbs was more cuddly.
Where is Helen Thomas when you need her?
I haven't needed Helen since the emotionally charged breakup of our secret love affair.
Why does anyone *need* Helen?
This is the most pointed questioning I have seen from the press in 8 years. It's confrontational. Carney is flailing.
Urgh, why do I have to be missing this?!?
Samesies. Plus, Jay Carney is really annoying, even for a White House Press Sec, and it would be awesome if he lost his job because of this just as collateral damage or whatever.
The best part is that he's almost assuredly utterly unprepared for this, as they've softballed him the whole time up until now.
Crash and burn, motherfucker. Crash. And. Burn.
"Now, now you're just asking me hypotheticals about things I wouldn't even know about anyway."
Aww, poor lil guy!
"You should ask the President that when he holds a press conference."
Then the President can avoid questions by mentioning that Mr. Carney has repeatedly addressed them already.
Very true. "But, but, but... you guys in the press are supposed to be on our side!" *Sob*
He's seriously unraveling now.
The press smells blood. Again, even CHUCK MSLSD TODD is getting hungry.
It's the press wiretaps. That was the one thing they would not brook.
"Mr. Carney, you keep using the terms 'national security' and 'national interests'. Would you take just a minute to provide stringent definitions?"
Is that a real quote?
Sorry, just my fantasy suggestion for a question.
You forgot to use the fantasy quotation marks.
Is that when air quotes are upside down and near the waist?
It involves thrusting your hips back and forth in a suggestive manner.
While sporting a huge boner.
Waiting for Tim to call a time out. He looks like he needs a hug.
Ha, the president's views and the president's actions should apparently be considered separately.
IOWs, hypocrisy is to be expected? And excused?
It's unbelievable that the Press is asking some less than entirely softball questions!
Could the Honeymoon really be ending?
Using the honeymoon analogy, I guess the AP spy scandal was domestic abuse?
This entire marriage has been one of domestic abuse.
Yeah, this is beyond abuse. The press just walked in on 0bama fucking their hot younger sister.
Please let someone blurt out something like "Would you *please* stop fucking saying 'unfettered' and 'inappropriate'?!"
Holder recused himself from the IRS investigations?
WTF?
Yeah, wtf was that?
If the guy in charge isn't involved, nobody can be blamed because nobody was in charge. Solved!
Special Prosecutor to the rescue, it sounds like.
If only. It's about fucking time for one.
Playing along with Citizen Nothing's game from the other thread, who will be playing the role of Leon Jaworski?
OBAMA SAID IT SO IT HAS TO BE TRUE. If Obama said he didn't want the IRS sic'd on tea baggers then it's outrageous to doubt it.
REPUBLICANS!
They're not going to do a data dump on a Tuesday. Duh.
Information that has been leaked for political purposes should be ignored, Alexis.
Thanks, Pakistani reporter, for cock blocking domestic media who were making Carney their bitch.
Wait, what?
A foreign reporter asked about what I believe was the appointment of a new Pakistani ambassador or the resignation of the current one (my stream cut out) right in the middle of some pretty intense questioning about why the White House hasn't released documents regarding Benghazi, why they had to be leaked. It looked like it have Carney a breather.
It looked like it gave Carney a breather. Probably why he called on him.
I don't understand why the WH keeps pounding the "we didn't know it was a terrorist attack for several days" drum when its been made abundantly clear via Gregory Hicks that not only did they know it was a terrorist attack AS IT WAS HAPPENING but they in fact told forces to stand down.
I'm disappointed (as usual) in the press for not pressing this harder.
But the whole "Holder has recused himself" story should be interesting, so we'll see.
Blood in the water folks.
Whoa. Chuck Todd is no longer in his chair. Is he in Gitmo now? Or just dead?
FoxNews must have offered him a better job, and he just dropped the mic on his audition tape.
Time to hit the buffet!
They gave Carney entirely too much time to ramble on saying nothing until he had burned up enough time to exit the podium.
According to Ari Fleischer's Twitter feed, Holder says the FBI is starting a criminal investigation of IRS.
I don't see how a federal agency can be trusted when it's clear that political shenanigans are going on. Pretty much screams special prosecutor.
We can only hope they shut down the whole operation under RICO.
Ah, what a pleasant dream.
Finally, something to officially absolve them of wrongdoing.
CNN went directly from covering these two press conferences with wolf expressing concern for all those in DC who were going to have to hire expensive lawyers to..... Angelina jolies boobs. No lie.
Angelina jolies [sic] boobs.
Ex-boobs, you mean. And for some reason I always instinctively refer to her as Angelina Bob Thornton.
