Maryland Governor to Sign Death Penalty Ban Bill Today
Along with hundreds of other bills
Governor Martin O'Malley today will sign more than 200 bills passed in this year's legislative session.
House Speaker Michael Busch and Senate President Mike Miller will join the governor in signing the bills in Annapolis.
The first bill the governor will sign today is the measure to repeal Maryland's death penalty.
With O'Malley's signature, Maryland becomes the 18th state in the nation to repeal the death penalty, and the sixth in the last six years.
