Crowdfunded Game Console Set to Launch in June
Ouya has begun shipping to early backers
The Ouya game console began shipping to early backers yesterday, but those who didn't snag one during the Kickstarter campaign can pick one up in stores on June 4.
In two months, consumers in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. will be able to pick up their mini console from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, or the Ouya.tv store for $99.99; fans can also pre-order the Ouya now.
The console package includes the Ouya (a sleek, compact cube that plugs into the TV), one controller (a wireless device with buttons, analog sticks, a cross-style D-Pad, and touchpad), and the on-board Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. According to the company, additional controllers will be available for $49.99.
