Rand Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll
Must have been those libertarian kids
Rand Paul edged out Marco Rubio in the presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday, reinforcing their standing as the preeminent favorites of the Republican base heading into 2016.
Sen. Paul (R-Ky.) received 25 percent and Sen. Rubio (R-Fla.) 23 percent of the 2,930 votes cast by attendees at the conference. Former Sen. Rick Santorum finished third, with 8 percent.

Coffee is now, what, a buck?
So that and a buck'll get you a cup of coffee...
It's tough to find a buck cup of coffee anymore. I blame cosmos and their burnt-tasting Starbucks and anti-capitalist "fair trade" coffee for driving up the price.
Don't forget Bernanke.
A friend's wife wanted coffee, I was driving to that part of town anyway so offered to pick them up a couple cups. They gave me a $20 and told me to get one for myself if I liked.
Three coffees plus a small tip for the barista: $23. They need to consider a cheaper drug habit
cocaine, the original morning picker upper.
Sad that he even managed to get 8%.
Incidentally, 8 percent of the voters thought they were voting for a frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.
Hey had organized lobbies there
Encouraging news to see Senator Paul at the top of the list
His Pop always won too.It is not surprising a plurality of hardcore movement conservatives will go for the most libertarian candidate as much as it pains some people to acknowledge it.
I do think its a little different this time. There's really not a lot of reason to think this straw poll was "hacked". I remember when Ron Paul won the polls, the conservatives were up in arms with complaints about the straw poll being gamed. This time, they seem more actively supportive.

Sure, it's still a far cry from going on to winning the GOP nomination, let alone the Presidency. But it's still happy news all the same.
