Three Cops Face Federal Theft Charges

Being crooked is one thing, but stealing from the government is another

Three former metro-area law enforcment officers now face 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to federal charges of stealing government property.

Those who pleaded guilty were Kent Daniels of Byram, a former Jackson police detective, Zack Robinson, former deputy with the Hinds County Sheriff Department and Watson Lee Jackson Jr. of Ridgeland, a former Madison County deputy.

The three men, in addition to George Hilliard of Madison, were arrested Oct. 2, 2012, FBI Special Agent Daniel McMullen said.
