Won't be making mental health lists for the state
The federal Department of Veterans Affairs said Monday its mental health professionals won't comply with a new gun law in New York that requires reporting the names of patients they believe likely to hurt themselves or others.

Seems the fed are telling the state, because fuck you, that's why.
Funny how eventually if you pass enough feel good legislation, contradictions start to form. HIPAA, which Clinton pushed and signed into law, prevents disclosure of patient names to anyone period unless it's directly related to their treatment or billing.
