FBI Investigating Killing of Gay Mayoral Candidate
Attempting to determine if it was a hate crime
CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The FBI will investigate last week's homicide of an openly gay mayoral candidate here as a possible hate crime, the agency said.
The agency "will assess evidence to determine whether federal prosecution is appropriate," Deborah Madden, an FBI public affairs specialist, said Wednesday.
