Detroit City Council to Appeal Emergency Management Plan
Insist they do have a plan
Detroit City Council has voted to request a public hearing and appeal Gov. Rick Snyder's plan to appoint an emergency financial manager for Detroit.
The resolution passed by council this afternoon says the city does indeed have a plan to fix the financial problems that have plagued the city for years. Council was awaiting any changes Bing may have wanted in the four-page resolution, but no response came from his office.
"We're basically going to ask for that hearing," Pugh said this afternoon.

The council members are trying to buy time until Obama gets around to bailing out Detroit with money from his stash.
Hope they win. A municipal bankruptcy would sweep much cleaner than an emergency manager.
