NY Scrambles To Exempt Moviemakers from Restrictive Gun Laws
Whoops! We didn't mean to drive your business elsewhere.
New York may have some of the toughest gun-control laws in the nation, but at least one government official is scurrying to carve out legislative exemptions for Hollywood to ensure the new crackdowns don't tie the hands of moviemakers.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is pushing to revise a January gun law so that moviemakers and Hollywood executives could still use real weapons, rather than fake ones, in their shots — even in scenes that take place on public streets, Fox News reports. The guns could not contain real ammunition, however.

Wait, where is the authenticity of using guns in movies set in New York? The ban will surely eliminate them in the real world so there would be no need to portray them in the fake world. Besides, panstwetters keep telling me it is the images in movies and TV that cause people to go nuts and start shooting everyone.
So not only is it policethe public, its former police the public, and now Hollywood the public. Nice to know Democrats think movie stars have first dibs on the bill of rights.
