Amash Decries McCain Tweet as Racist
Compared president of Iran to a monkey
Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash said a joke from veteran Sen. John McCain comparing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a monkey was "racist" on Monday.
On Sunday, Ahmadinejad declared his desire to be the first Iranian in space, less than a week after the Middle Eastern nation claimed to have successfully sent a monkey out of the atmosphere. This prompted an attempt at humor from McCain, a fierce critic of Ahmadinejad and an Iran hawk.

Really, Justin?
That's unfortunate. Amash seemed like a a reasonably intelligent politician. But calling McCain's tweet racist is beyond stupid, especially coming from a sitting politician. It's essentially an attack on free speech. There's nothing remotely racist about McCain's joke. Amash's remark, however, seems clearly racist. It follows the recent trend of calling any criticism by a caucasian of a non-caucasian racist.
Bobby Jindal asks for the GOP to stop being the party of stupid and Amash makes a completely fucking stupid remark.
Persians are another race?
