Mea Culpa: Wrong Inaugural Edition
Yesterday I wrote a post criticizing President Obama's second inaugural speech and some of the liberal reaction to it. There was a big, big problem with the post: I quoted from the president's first inaugural address. I owe Reason's readers an apology for this boneheaded mistake, and also an apology to the other journalists whose remarks I connected to the wrong speech. I've added a note to the post indicating the error and struck out the entire text.
Fortunately, my colleagues have written quite a bit about the actual second inaugural speech, and their pieces are very much worth reading. Here are a few highlights:
- Matt Welch on Obama's warmed over collectivism.
- J.D. Tuccille on Obama's dangerous majoritarianism.
- Ronald Bailey on the president's big push to confront climate change
- Ira Stoll on what to expect from Obama's second term.
