What to Expect from Obama's Second Term
A few shreds of evidence that Obama might follow through on a center-right policy agenda
What will President Obama's second term, which begins this week, bring?
Here's a best-case scenario and a worst-case scenario.
The best case is that Obama follows through on some of the proposals that he, or members of his administration, have already made that fit broadly with free-market, fiscally conservative principles.
During the 2012 campaign, for example, Obama proposed lowering the corporate tax rate to 28 percent from 35 percent. An individual income-tax plan proposed by the chairmen of an Obama-appointed commission on the budget deficit would lower the top individual income tax rate to 24 percent. The president has spoken of changing immigration policy to attract entrepreneurs born abroad: "In a global marketplace, we need all the talent we can attract, all the talent we can get to stay here to start businesses." In negotiations with Republicans, he has floated the idea of basing Social Security cost of living adjustments on "chained Consumer Price Index," which would have the effect of trimming government spending on one of the giant entitlement programs.
In other words, if President Obama merely follows through on what he or his appointees have already either formally or informally proposed, he'd reform immigration in a way that removes obstacles to a free market in labor and free movement of individuals, cut both corporate and individual top tax rates to levels lower than in the George W. Bush or Reagan administrations, and adjust Social Security benefits to put the program, and the U.S. government, on sounder financial footing.
That's the best-case scenario.
The worst-case scenario is that, having achieved tax increases on upper-income Americans as part of a fiscal-cliff deal earlier this month, Obama will return to seek, and achieve, yet more tax increases, under the banner of combating the scourge of income inequality. On immigration, Obama will decide that it's more politically useful for his party's dominance of Latino voters to have an immigration bill voted down by House Republicans than to have one actually passed.
And on entitlement reform, Obama will decide that, because the programs become insolvent decades down the road, the problems would better be tackled by some future president who is himself or herself of the age to be a beneficiary of these programs. A president such as, say, Joe Biden, who will be 74 on inauguration day in 2017, or Hillary Clinton, who will be 69. On the entitlement issue, Obama will console himself that ObamaCare provided some tools for beginning to get control over Medicare costs.
Which is the more likely outcome, the best-case scenario or the worst-case scenario?
Look at Obama's first-term record, and there are at least a few shreds of evidence to support the best-case scenario of Obama following through on a center-right policy agenda. He did extend the Bush tax cuts for four years and add a payroll tax cut. He did extend President Bush's war on terror by surging troops in Afghanistan, ordering drone attacks, keeping the Guantanamo detention center open, and killing Osama Bin Laden.
Yet there is plenty of evidence, too, to support the worst-case scenario, of a president more interested in redistribution than in growth, a "you didn't build that" president who, to the extent he thinks about growth at all, sees it as driven by government spending ("investment," "stimulus") on education and infrastructure rather than by individual private-sector risk-takers, a president more interested in scoring political points than in crafting bipartisan legislative compromises. Witness the lack of progress on either immigration or deficit reduction in term one.
Which of the two scenarios will we get?
If there's ever a moment to hope for the best while expecting the worst, inauguration week is it. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

The big thing is apparently he's making a big push to increase energy poverty in the name of propitiating Baal combating climate change.
My hope is that he will do this with all the determination with which he ended the Iraq war and closed Gitmo.
... or in saving the Kyoto Protocal?
I think through the fog of it all Obama really buys into, I guess for lack of a better term, the "Stop Climate Change Movement."
Does this count as today's PM Link?
Expecting AM or PM links on MLK Day is RACIST.
so?
Seriously, so racist. Black people wore chains. Chains are made up of links. PM links are also made up of links. Therefore, wanting PM Links is the same thing as wanting black people enslaved.

Yes, that logic is irrefutable.

I like to eat sausage links. Does that make me racist?
Also a murderer because meat is murder
tasty, tasty murder
Fried chicken adds a hate-crime enhancement to that murder.
Is that hate-crime enhancement calculated by a D8 or a D12 roll?
Is that hate-crime enhancement calculated by a D8 or a D12 roll?
I thought everyone had gone D20 these days. Or did they ban high-capacity dice?
You can only get D7s in New York.
which is stupid, cause it is the same as 2D10.
Goddamn GEEKS!
I'm proud to say I had no idea what you were talking about until LFoD used the word dice.
Did any of you even kiss a girl before graduating college? 🙂
Don't know; does your mom count?

Damn right she counts... she's hot!
Cooked sausages are brown you reich-wing rethuglican redneck.
PROGRESSIVE THOUGHT POLICE RESPONSE:
First off, your question is wrong. You asked if that makes you racist. Used in this context, racist is an adjective. An adjective suggests that this is somehow a mutable characteristic. No, it makes you a racist: a noun, an immutable characteristic because all people under a certain melanin threshold absolutely ARE racist, just some are honest enough to accept it and do penance by deferring to their darker counterparts at all moments.
Also, sausage makes you a speciesist, which is the moral equivalent of teh racist.
I'm pretty sure making any reference to sausages also makes one a sexist due to the obvious phallic nature of the imagery. Unless of course one is either gay or female. If female though, it does suggest hetero-normative thought processes. No doubt as a result of years of false conciousness imprinted upon one's psyche by TEH PATRIARCHY. If gay, then it's a clever deviant sex joke that only conservative prudes would find unfunny.
It's even more simple than that.
Being male makes you sexist.
Being white makes you racist.
The only escape from those labels is to be gay or have a sex change. At that point, you are magically transformed into a victim, who is being repressed, by straight white males, of course.
So, if instead of sausage it was the mini-weiners that would constitute micro-aggression, wouldn't it?
Jennifer? Is that you?
*applause and cheers*

Black people wore chains. Chains are made up of links.
Oh! Good thing I use cable. Cable is made up of strands. Black people like walking on the strands, right? I do.
Whips are made of strands, whips were used against slaves. I can do this all day folks.
You can't spell strand without Rand
And you can't spell daynt without Ayn.
Ok. I'll bite. Use "daynt" in a sentence.
Daynt no time fo' dat.

B.C. Transit Police forgot explosive on Air Canada plane
I feel safer already.
How the fuck soes that go down? The guy who planted it just assumed that the searchers found it and disposed of it properly?
How the fuck soes that go down?
In a ball of flames would be my guess.
The very strange thing is that there has been no explanation what the Transit Police (who are in charge of "security" on SkyTrain, buses, and SeaBus, but really just write tickets for fare evaders) were doing planting fake explosives on an *airplane* in the first place.
Good thing that could never happen here in the real world.

I read and sometimes comment on this site, so I have for some time suspected that I am racist. Thanks everyone for confirming that.
+1 field-hand
The fact that you are racist, just by the act of posting on this site, may still be debatable. The fact that you are a domestic terrorist, the science is settled as far as that goes.
So that's why my phone is tapped!
Dunno about that, but you are now on a list at DHS, that one is for sure.
The best case scenario is a long and debilitating illness for Barry that leaves Uncle Joe in charge for most of the next four years.
Biden 2016!
I've finally reached the point where that no longer scares me.
When a condemned man faces the gallows for years, the final act almost seems like a relief.
Why should it? It would be more of a gift to the GOP than Romney was to the Dems.
Why not? For the lulz.
That will be his campaign slogan.
I was hoping Romney would pick Bobby Jindal to be his VP just so we could see Biden so unintentionally racist things about him during the debate.
Indeed, he would have had at least one "makaka" moment. also: This.
"I don't know what kinda 7-11s you family owned, but in central Pennsylvania where I'm from..."
Well, they could always run Jindal in '16; then we'd get three or four debates for Biden to fuck up in.
Exactly. At least we could have a belly laugh every few days when Prez Biden embarrassed the shit out of himself feeling up Angela Merkel or mugging for the media with a towel wrapped around his head when visiting Afghanistan, or wearing $400 shoes at a charity event.
Vice President Joe Biden said on Friday he was "shooting for Tuesday" to get President Barack Obama his recommendations on how to battle an epidemic of gun violence and warned "there's no silver bullet" to stop the killing.
Just, whatever, DO NOT make that POS a martyr. Best that we keep him alive and in office and make his life a living hell.
"Unfortunately, [JFK] was shot under the most glamorous of circumstance and not, as one would hope, after due process of law."
- PJ O'Rourke
I'd settle for a Watergate moment. Just something that exposes him for the sociopath he is.
It wouldn't matter. The media would cover for him, his supporters would scream 'racist!', and even if the House had the balls to impeach, the Senate would never convict. It's not like there haven't been ample examples of his sociopathy thus far.
You mean like Fast & Furious, his end run around Congress on Libya, or Benghazigate? Short of killing an American Citizen without due process...wait he's done that too. Yup, Obama is immune to scandal. We The Sheeple love him too much.
You got a full article out of this speculation?
BOHICA, babay!
Obama has shown himself to be a purely political animal. So far he has made very few if any concessions for the greater good. On the other hand, he has shown that he doesn't really care what happens to his fellow Democrats in Congress. The second term might come down to how many of them are willing to lose their seats for Obama's political wins.
I think he cares a lot now. He can't jam through his agenda without a Dem House.
Even better. He can keep up the political gridlock by refusing to work with Republicans for compromise and then defame them as obstructionists. The establishment Republicans are helping him along by giving in to many of his demands without getting anything in return. This caused the Tea Party and Libertarian Republicans to create a revolution in the party and the Democrats are using the disunity to swing way out to the left. He might not get anything done during his Presidency, but he could destroy the Republican Party leaving only the DNC to fill the power vacuum in the future.

Ditto on the cites.
A number of the retailers I know here are mightily ticked off. They now have large numbers of bags with store logos they can only use if someone pays 10 cents, some of which they had to go to extra expense to have made because of a previous ordinance mandating labels for recycling content. The city is also eliminating free parking at meters on Sundays and during the evenings, after raising dramatically raising rates.
It was amusing to hear a left-wing lesbian business owner talking about "marching on city hall" to protest all of that.
No label requirement here so the mandatory paper bag fee was the bribe to get retailers not to oppose the plastic bag ban. That and it applies to all retailers so they don't have to worry about a competitor undercutting them.
Funny how it would be evil collusion if the retailers did it on their own but all ok when mandated.
"A few shreds of evidence that Obama might follow through on a center-right policy agenda"
I guess those few shreds of evidence don't include the speech he made today
I like how war is automatically a right wing thing. Never mind Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Truman, and LBJ. Forget that the most eloquent and consistent voice against war for the last twenty years or so has been that kooky old man from Texas.
Look, at this point drone strikes, indefinite detention, extraordinary rendition, the TSA, the Patriot Act, and all the other disastrous trappings of the War on Terror go down in the War on Drugs and the perpetual deficit spending as a wonderful example of how "bipartisan" means "stupid AND evil".

Is there anyone in the world who likes Boehner right now? His libertarian cred is zero, same for the tea party, the crypto-fascists obviously hate him for offering some slap-fight opposition to their economic march into the sea, and rank and file Republicans have to despise him for failing to stand up to the socialist in chief.
That said, Michelle sure looks happy to stuff her face with the sort of food she'd deny to public-school students.

I saw an online survey today where the options for whether or not Obama would have a successful second term were "Yes, he has the support of the country" and "No, his plans are too ambitious". Yeah, cause that's definitely the only reason that his second term might not be a success.
Technically, they only asked if he will be successful in his second term, not if the country will be. A fairly trivial distinction it might seem, but it makes their options seem rational. Of course, they do that in order to shape the narrative that his policies are what the country requires, but oh the nuances that language provides.
"Will Comrade Stalin be successful in getting his five-year plan implemented, his quota of Mencheviks executed and the gulag expanded into the Ukraine? His ability to work with the Supreme Soviet is key here..."
Well regardless of the outcome of the 2nd term at least, today on a brisk January the male component of the press corp has achieved a state of full turgidity. Matthews, Blitzer, Acosta, Maddow; all sporting worshipful presidential inaugural stiffies.
Maddows is pretty impressive for a lesbian...no wonder she always got the cheerleaders.

Some of us have adapted by growing luxurious heaps of back hair to disguise our true nature, hair that becomes soaked with perspiration during the act of love, making us look vaguely, but not entirely, completely unlike a collie that just jumped out of a swimming pool filled with human sweat.

Oh, Stiglitz, you're so smart.
the weakness of the middle class is holding back tax receipts, especially because those at the top are so adroit in avoiding taxes and in getting Washington to give them tax breaks.
Why does this sound like "ALL PROSTITUTION IS RAPE!" to me?
Now, keep calm, but....
Someone posted a link yesterday evening where Krugmann call Stiglitz' bullshit in that 'editorial'.
Honest.
It was bizarre, Krugman basically made the argument that rich people stimulate the economy by buying yachts and hiring servants and doing other rich person stuff, and so income inequality is more a moral issue than an economic one.
So who killed Krugman and who is this imposter?
The part the "eat the rich" folks never seem to get is that most of the stuff rich people have is valuable only to rich people. You can take someone's Ferrari by force, but you'll never get its cash value unless you have another rich person to buy it. Same thing with mansions, rare artwork, etc.
You give it to a janitor, who then runs it drunkenly into a bridge abutment because he doesn't give a shit about it because it was free.
It's the curse of the SUX 3000.
You have no idea how to make this work. You let everyone in the 99% take turns driving it, but anyone who gets a scratch on it gets executed for destroying public property.
You can take someone's Ferrari by force, but you'll never get its cash value unless you have another rich person to buy it. Same thing with...
You miss the whole point, which is to give the good shit to the right people all of whom are top men. Selling the stuff and distributing the proceeds are just the marketing pitch to get the useful idiots to co-operate.
But the rich will stop buying Ferraris, which will direct more resources to things that poor people can use, making those things cheaper and more widely available.
Krugman and Stiglitz a double Nobel retard fight.
Just read his op ed and I must say, good lord what a fucking moron. That's what passes as a leftwing intellectual today?
More Stiglitz:
Meanwhile, as incomes have stagnated or fallen, tuition has soared. In the United States now, the principal way to get education ? the only sure way to move up ? is to borrow. In 2010, student debt, now $1 trillion, exceeded credit-card debt for the first time.
Student debt can almost never be wiped out, even in bankruptcy. A parent who co-signs a loan can't necessarily have the debt discharged even if his child dies. The debt can't be discharged even if the school ? operated for profit and owned by exploitative financiers ? provided an inadequate education, enticed the student with misleading promises, and failed to get her a decent job.
Tuition soaring! For reasons which defy explanation!
Schools operated for profit! By dreaded Exploitative Financiers!
Funded via ironclad bulletproof government backed undischargable loan agreements?
It baffles.
"Student debt can almost never be wiped out, even in bankruptcy."
One of the safeguards required to get the thing passed is now 'viewed with concern'. Pretty clear example of 'slippery slope'.
"A parent who co-signs a loan can't necessarily have the debt discharged even if his child dies. The debt can't be discharged even if the school ? operated for profit and owned by exploitative financiers ? provided an inadequate education, enticed the student with misleading promises, and failed to get her a decent job."
No kidding! The horror! You sign up for a loan and those low-lifes expect you to PAY IT BACK!.
Is "Stiglitz" Martian by any chance? I'm just hoping that an earthling spawn couldn't be this stupid.
There's just no getting through to the cognitive elite at times.
Of course it doesn't seem to have occurred to him that by buying a life insurance policy on the kid for the amount of the balance of the loan would let the parent avoid getting stuck with the loan if the kid went and died. You can buy term life policy on an 18-22 year old for next to nothing.
Protecting someone from a serious financial burden is one of the sensible reasons to buy life insurance.
But I guess it's never occurred to Stiglitz that people should plan for themselves.
And the situation is note helped by the economic illiteracy of many students. I've talked to some students who insist on taking a full course load so they qualify for student loans/financial aid AND work 30 hours a week so they can make car payments, etc.
I point out to them that they could take a half load, no loans, & live decently on their wages. But then they cry that they want to get done quickly. That is usually followed by them pulling a B, a couple of Cs & a D. So, they have to re-take the D, & their GPA sucks. And, with a degree in ANYTHING, a 2.0 GPA ain't getting you a high paying job.
What a fucking snobbish piece of shit Stiglitz is. Those in the Higher Ed. industry know that by "for-profit" colleges and universities, he is referring to the less prestigious, University of Phoenix-type institutions. For, as we all know, those vaunted private, non-profit universities could never "provide an inadequate education" or "entice with misleading promises".
Not to mention that the for-profit schools aren't charging half what the most prestigious not-for-profit [but full of very well greased administrators] universities do.
not-for-profit [but full of very well greased administrators]
QFMFT
There are plenty of people making a nice living from "non profits". If it were up to me I'd remove the tax exemption for nonprofits in a heartbeat.
Remember when the democrats in Obama's first year wanted to make student loans dischargable to end the higher ed debt bubble.
Me either.

Matt Taibbi is conflicted.
The only way we were ever going to win the War on Terror was to win a long, slow, political battle, in which we proved bin Laden wrong, where we allowed people in the Middle East to assess us as a nation and decide we didn't deserve to be mass-murdered. To use another clich?, we needed to win hearts and minds. We had to make lunatics like bin Laden pariahs among their own people, which in turn would make genuine terrorists easier to catch with the aid of genuinely sympathetic local populations.
Instead, we turned people like bin Laden into heroes.
------
But forget about all of that. The real problem is what this movie says about us. When those Abu Ghraib pictures came out years ago, at least half of America was horrified. The national consensus (albeit by a frighteningly slim margin) was that this wasn't who we, as a people, wanted to be. But now, four years later, Zero Dark Thirty comes out, and it seems that that we've become so blunted to the horror of what we did and/or are doing at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo and Bagram and other places that we can accept it, provided we get a boffo movie out of it.
Or maybe it's just that a different somebody is in charge of doing all that awful necessary stuff.
Or maybe it's just that a different somebody is in charge of doing all that awful necessary stuff
It all comes down to that when you are a brain dead partisan sheep.

Dunno about the flick; don't watch them. Regardless, as a US citizen, the thought of trained US military personnel shooting an un-armed *anyone* in their bed didn't fill me with pride.
the thought of trained US military personnel shooting an un-armed *anyone* in their bed didn't fill me with pride
Nice to know that I'm not the only one who felt that way.
To have heard Obama and his sycophant minions bragging about this, you would have thought that Obama himself took down Osama in a caged death match.
"To have heard Obama and his sycophant minions bragging about this, you would have thought that Obama himself took down Osama in a caged death match."
If you read anything of WWII, you'll find there was conflicting advice on the ethics of assassinating Yamamoto.
It was done; he was murdered in the air, as were all sorts of WWII pilots.
Even that sleazebag FDR didn't run victory laps at the time. Nor was he (Yamamoto) shot in his bed.
There's plenty of shades of grey in this war, but the killing of Osama bin Laden was not one of them. He orchestrated the murder of 3000 civilians. We can talk for hours about motivations, about the history of American involvement in the Middle East, about blowback and the jihadist movement and all kinds of things. None of it is really relevant. He planned the death of thousands of innocent people. He wasn't some Iraqi ex-soldier who honestly thought his country was better off without the Americans, or some Pashtun tribesman fighting off the next in a long line of people who invaded the mountains.
There's been a lot of things that have happened over the last 11 years that have given me a sense of shame about what the government that claims to represent me has done in my name. A lot of things that made me angry, and many more that made me sad. But the raid that killed OBL isn't anywhere close to those things.
I don't even begrudge people here their celebrations. I see it as a recognition among the American people that the last decade has been essentially a dirty war, and I think they were very happy indeed to have a clear cut victory without any of the sordid nature of the things that have been done clouding it.
Well said Virginian. Couldn't agree more.
The only way we were ever going to win the War on Terror was to win a long, slow, political battle

Pathetic lap-dog reporter at CNN tries to one-up Chris Matthews on who can lick the most statist boot
Should...have....listened....(heave!)
You can only hope the polish licks off and causes death.
Or that they choke to death on deep throating boot.
That'll do it, too. And with equal result.
I'm surprised all he wanted to do was pinch himself rather than furiously masturbate all over the ground his lord and master tred on.
Oh, he did; you just can't say that on air.
"A boot, caressing a face, forever."
Yes, that boot leather looks supple and it smells like the interior of a new Mercedes Benz, the heal not so much.
OK, how do you copy an ad?
I got Biden, "Gun Control?", "vote here now".
And then I find: http://www.google.com/imgres?q.....,s:0,i:137
OK, the mug shot of Biden shows hair that might or might not be his, but the mug-shot can't be faked.
That works for anyone web savvy enough to know to click the x link on the image and close it, to get to the web page behind it.
HOPE & CHANGE
OK, really can't gripe about this.
MO got a ride to the highest point of power in the world, and this is not an independent thinker who is going to question what those coattails got her.
Sleeping with an elected official also got her on The Tonight Show, where she got the chance to get off on bullying Olympic gold medalists over what they ate.
It was far more power than she was ever to find otherwise.
Is this the first time in her life she's been proud of him?
Who wants to weigh in on whether Obama gets us into another quagmire in NW Africa? And that the so called liberals and their compliant media will do the total silence act on it?
And that the so called liberals and their compliant media will do the total silence act on it?
Remember those weekly lists of names George Stephanoupolous would solemnly put on the screen of dead soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan back when Dubya was president?
Whatever happened with that? Did Americans stop dying when Barry took office? Is there no limit to his miraculous powers?
They're still dying, but of suicide, so it doesn't count.
Only 1500 in Afghanistan since he took over, more than twice as before he was President. But who's counting? Certainly not the media, not any more. Remember all the grim milestones? Funny how that all stopped in January 2009.
They don't seem as orgasmic about photographing all the caskets, either.
Well, you know, because Boosh was a war pig, but Obama is a hero for doing exactly the same things.
This is not going to end well. France are going to get the shit kicked out of them in Mali, and any attempt by us to help them will go very badly.
It is time for us to throw off this interventionist government and return to a free republic.
Kony 2013?
Off topic, but Skyrim is a stunning world with the new 6-7G of high texture mods applied. I can't wait to see graphics like this in at least, the best attempt at VR to date.
VR finally getting a start
That Brunner Shootout goal was sick.
It's like futebol, Canuckistan style.
Who's up for a game of Tazerball?
Fucking pussies.
I loved the look of shock on my wifes face when the Ravens Bernard Pollard literally knocked Stevan Ridley unconscious with a viscous hit that caused a fumble, in yesterday evenings dismantling of the Belichickens.
Yes, it's violent, futebol Americano, and that's why we love it.
Wow, nothing about Dingy Harry deciding to end the filibuster tomorrow? No YouTube clips of Mr Smith Goes To Washington?
If Romney were doing it you guys would be all over it.
I'm heartend by the fact that this thread has given this article the response that it deserves.
Not sure about that. The article is pure shit. We are being pretty nice, IMHO.
Wait...people actually read the articles?
Look smartass, there were two test questions in the article:
Which is the more likely outcome, the best-case scenario or the worst-case scenario?
and
Which of the two scenarios will we get?
The answer is 6.
Yeah, I was thinking more a long the lines that most of the comments ignore the article completely which is the correct response since it is shit.
Looking for a place to stay in Phoenix?
Oh my gawd, PF, you need to repost this tomorrow. It's too god awful to hide from everybody:
Jesus...
I may be awake for the morning links. Got a thing.
I'll try if I get a minute in the morning. I'll give you the hat tip, as well.
I don't think they know what 'chemicals' are.
Wow, just wow. This cannot be real. I lived in Phoenix and never saw anything like this.
Jesus, I don't know who David Deida is, but I'm afraid to look.
I doubt he's a Coyotes season ticket holder.
With all the placenta-crafting, who has the time?
I'n knee deep in placenta right now...
Hah! David Deida is a sham!
I think we may be surrounded by hippies...
Watched about five minutes, thinking the guy would get to some point or at least fucking say something.
Gave up and saw this comment:

I like David Deida... I wish my brain was amazing? enough to understand what he says sometimes
He's the least disturbing thing about the listing actually. His work is pretentious neo-tantric horseshit about sexual spirituality, but not anywhere near the same level of icky as placenta "art."
I briefly had a girlfriend who wanted me to read Intimate Communion, which I dutifully did. It was fucking awful, but not "weird" awful, just badly plagiarized Eastern sexual mysticism crap. Earth muffin hippy-dippy asshat kind of stuff.
So if you had to choose between David Deida and Jason Godesky to be your companion on a desert island, ....
Godesky is actually on the reasonable content filter list.
Having no idea who he is, I went and Google-webbed him and found his 30 theses. I'd probably end up murdering him within a couple days as I suspect he wouldn't get it when I told him to fuck off and stay on his side of the island. Deida would probably get the message if I produced a weapon.
So, I'd take Deida in such a scenario.
I would prefer Jason G. since he probably has all sorts of skills for surviving in primitive conditions.
Based on my experience with people like him, I doubt he has any skill at anything beyond an ability to spout bullshit.
Those of us who've actually played the primitive living game and know how to live out of a bergen for an extended period of time without resupply don't tend to wax philosophical about its superiority to civilization. Thus, I suspect G-dude probably couldn't start a fire with gasoline and a road flare and only writes on the intertubes using the free wifi at Starbucks about how great it will be when civilization collapses and he can start his fires with a bow drill.
And I hate anarchists. They are the socio-political equivalent of pacifists. Hippies talking about how spiritual their last hairpie tantra session was aren't nearly as murder-rage inducing as primitivist-anarchist snarkmonkies.
G-dude's Number 9 Thesis pretty well demonstrates how pathetically ignorant of survival issues he really is. Any person who believes hunt-gathering is preferable to agriculture in terms of either quality or consistency of food supply has clearly done neither.
I'm willing to bet G-dude's knowledge of food "gathering" is limited to swiping a bank card at the nearest supermarket.
I must thank you for exposing me to him as I am finding his 30 Theses tremendously entertaining in a, "what kind of brain-damaged moron actually believes this tripe" kind of way.
Too bad you weren't around here a few months ago when one of our trolls was treating us to copy-pasta of his various tracts in multiple languages in every thread. (hence the banned word in Reasonable)
I don't think they know what 'chemicals' are.
Well they sure as fuck now what THC is.
Looks like my age-old predictions about a legal marijuana landscape are coming true:
Still stinging from that rebuke from the voters over state-controlled liquor, Mr. Garza? Trying to carve out a new tyranny over the people? I'm already wondering if we were better off when it was illegal. These people never go away, they just find a new crack in the foundation and crawl back inside.

We want to be held accountable," Holcomb said. "We want this to be watched to see if it's a workable alternative to marijuana prohibition."
Tax us! Regulate us! Set us free!
**looks up and down**
I stand in awe of this thread...
Well done, all!-D
OK dude, so who comes up with all that crazy stuff.

There are so many expectation from Mr. President, biggest expectation is to lower health care cost and increase Medicare Benefits. People need medicare insurance in low cost and they must get it.
