US Postal Service Pushed to Streamline Services
Have to staunch the massive money bleed
The U.S. Postal Service's board of governors has told the agency to speed up internal streamlining efforts, USPS said in a Monday statement.
The board of governors, the statement said, has advised USPS to revise a five-year plan it released last year, which called for changes in delivery standards and other policies to help the Postal Service stabilize its finances.
Lawmakers failed to pass an overhaul of postal operations before adjourning the previous Congress this month, and Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe has urged both the House and the Senate to make postal reform a priority for this congressional session.
