NRA Membership Jumps After Sandy Hook Shooting
More than 100,000 people have joined in the last 18 days
Following the Sandy Hook shooting, many Americans have been forced to choose a side in the gun control debate — and many of them have chosen to become card-carrying members of the National Rifle Association.
More than 100,000 people have joined the NRA in past 18 days, according to POLITICO, growing the organization's membership from 4.1 million to 4.2 million. The self-imposed NRA goal is to hit 5 million members by the time the gun control debate is "over." A one-year membership is $35 on the NRA website and includes various gifts.
