Second Arrest in New York Cop Cannibal Cop Plot
New Jersey man accused of conspiring with officer to kidnap, murder and eat women
Authorities on Friday charged a New Jersey man in a conspiracy that involves a New York City police officer who was arrested in October for allegedly hatching plots to kidnap, cook and cannibalize women.
Michael Vanhise, 23 years old, was arrested in his Hamilton, N.J., home Friday by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, according to a criminal complaint.
New York City police officer Gilberto Valle, 28 years old, pleaded not guilty in the conspiracy after being arrested in October on that charge as well as improperly using a police computer. Valle's attorney has said that Valle's communications about the women were part of a deviant sexual fantasy fetish that he never planned to act on.
