Missouri Inmate Sues Over Newspaper Ban
Says his weekly newspaper was taken away because he wrote a letter to the editor
An inmate in the Ste. Genevieve County jail sued jail officials Friday claiming that they took away his weekly newspaper because of a letter that he wrote to the editor.
Stanley A. Schell's Oct. 31 letter, according to the lawsuit, criticized local churches and their pastors for failing to visit inmates and provide spiritual guidance. He repeatedly asked the clergy, "Where are you?"
