Brickbat: A Minor Crime
Former Atlanta police officer Bernett Collins has pleaded guilty to sexual battery, distributing sexually explicit material to a minor and violating his oath of office. Collins met a 13-year-old girl when answering a call to her house. He then began texting her and eventually sending her explicit photographs of himself and requesting photos of her topless or in her underwear. He also groped her during a visit to her house. A judge sentenced Collins to five years probation.

Pics or it didn't happen.
It's a good thing for this officer that he didn't take pictures. If he had taken, say, four pictures, he could go to jail for life. Fortunately for him there were no pictures, so he got five years probation instead.
For that matter, if there were pictures and you saw them, you could go to jail for life too. Be careful what you ask for!
I don't understand why these judges and prosecutors feel the need to go overboard in making an example of law enforcement officers who stumble. Why couldn't the man have been let go completely scot-free like the badgeless perverts are instead of the super-harsh punishment of probation?
Seriously. In the spirit of, uh, Winter Celebration, this guy should have gotten, at most, three years of probation. I mean she'll be 16 at the end of that probation, at which point there's no issue with him sexually harassing her.
This low life piece of crap should have gone to jail.
I know what Santa will bring JohnD for x-mas...a new sarcasm detector.
I was thinking the same thing. Twenty years after high school I read in the paper about some creep from my home town doing the exact same thing and he only got 10 years hard time. I guess he is lucky he didnt do it with a badge on.
Officer Collins was protecting and serving, um, something or another, so he's worthier than that other guy.
I have a feeling FoE isn't a human, but a bot that surfs H&R constantly, trying to post first to every thread.
I purposely waited until there was already a comment just to make Whiterun feel better about himself.
Don't bother next time. If I haven't suicided by now, I probably won't.
We're more worried that you're going to go on a killing spree.
I'm in Liberia. I don't think anyone would notice.
Gee Gods man, what are you doing in that shithole?
As a matter of fact thinking about being in Liberia is depressing. It is 65ish here, clear skies with a light breeze and all the fall leaves are fallen. I have been out splitting wood this morning, smelling fresh oak and watching the ducks and geese fly over on their way to the bayou. I would go shoot a few later except I still have some in the freezer from last year. It is so nice and fall llike here I cant stand to think of that fetid garbage-strewn wasteland that is Liberia.
It's about 90 and 80% humidity. Hot but not unbearably so. But it IS just a fetid, garbage strewn wasteland. I have been replaying FONV and, except for the color scheme, it's SO much like Liberia. Except you don't get the overwhelming smell in FONV.
Or the throngs of people who make the place much worse than it already is.
We don't need guns.
We should just trust the police to take care of us.
And when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
The Empire State just got a lot more imperial
They have so much money, they don't know what to do with it all.
This makes a ll kinds of crazy sense dude. Wow. I really like the sound of that!

You would, pedobot.
How did the union allow him to get such a stiff penalty? Georgia is a right to work state, maybe he didn't join.
