Obama Sets January Deadline for Gun Control Proposals
Reforms to be put before Congress
Obama wants proposal on real gun control "reform" by January and will push to get it done.

IOW require any adult who either cannot or will not carry a firearm to be licensed.
Obama also demanded a plan to cut the deficit, but did nothing with Simpson-Bowles after they came back with their recommendations. He signed an executive order requiring Guantamo to be closed by Jan. 20, 2010 and demanded that Assad go from Syria. Last I checked Guantamo is open and Assad is still in his palace. Even with the gun rights crowd going wobbly after New Town, he is unlikely to do anything with such a plan--especially since he ordered it to arrive in the run-up to another debt ceiling debate. The only things saving us from this man are his incompetence and inability to transition from campaigning to governing.
