Friday Night Lights
Officials with the Weslaco Independent School District in Texas have threatened to sue a local newspaper if it doesn't remove a story about financial management in the system from its website. The story is based on a Texas Education Agency Audit of the school and a memo sent by an attorney to board members regarding the audit. Among other problems, the audit found the school system took $2 million from its worker's compensation fund to build a press box for a high school stadium.
