Axelrod Encouraged By "Cold, Hard Data"

Thinks to polls favor the president in crucial swing states

On election day, David Axelrod doesn't have time for any warm, fuzzy feelings of enthusiasm.

"I've been traveling with the president for the last four days and we've been met with huge crowds and enthusiastic crowds where ever we go, and I take some encouragement from that," Axelrod, a senior adviser to President Barack Obama's reelection campaign, said on CBS's "This Morning." "But I take greater encouragement from the cold, hard data, which is that early vote in every battleground state that has early vote has been very much in our favor. And the polling has been very much in our favor. We're even or ahead in every one of these battleground states."
