Video Contradicts Police Tale of Dog Shooting

The pooch was not so aggressive as they claimed

An Omaha police officer shot and killed a dog on a public sidewalk. The officer's report claims the shooting was justified; however, the owners call the incident an execution of a friendly, family pet. Mike McKnight obtained surveillance video of the incident for a Fact Finders exclusive.

On October 7th, after midnight, police blocked a street in the area of 35th and Vinton to look for an armed suspect. They say Chris Schulte, who lives in the area, ignored orders to stop and walked the family dog toward the search area. He was arrested and his dog, Teela, shot.

Chris Schulte said, "You know I should have got back but I was just walking on. Not threatening, dog wasn't being aggressive."

They can lie on their official reports, but can't comment when there is video contradicting their lies. Nice.

Note that it wouldn't be a surprise if a dog did get aggressive when their owner is tackled to the ground. There was only a potential issue with the dog because the cops unnecessarily escalated the issue.

The guy was walking at approximately 0 miles an hour. He could have been stopped if the cop just walked over and tapped him on the shoulder. Instead, the cop overreacts about someone "not respecting his authoritAY", assaults him, and murders his dog.

I know so many perfectly law abiding people who'll say "I hate cops." These kinds of violent overreactions, and subsequent coverups, are largely why.
