Brown Pulls Out of Final Debate with Warren
Hurricane Sandy cited
Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) will not participate in his fourth and final debate with challenger Elizabeth Warren (D), his campaign said Monday.
The debate was scheduled for Tuesday evening in Boston. Organizers, including the Boston Globe, had planned to continue with the live event despite the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the state.
"It is simply not appropriate to go forward with a political debate when a disaster strikes," Brown spokesman Colin Reed said in a statement. "The focus for all of us before, during and after the storm needs to be on emergency response and disaster relief, not campaigns and politics."
