Many economists interpret an increase in the quit rate as a good sign for the economy -- it means workers are finding better opportunities. Across the southern U.S., the quits rate has increased over the past year.

 But according to their comments, readers at AL.com are far from convinced that this is a good sign for Alabama. "These are just people that decided to let the [government] take care of them," one said. "If you quit with cause (make up a reason) you will receive your benefits," said another.
