Freed Ohio Death Row Inmate Enjoys Life Out of Prison
First meal out of prison is pizza
A murder defendant freed after spending decades on Ohio's death row in a botched prosecution is savoring the taste of freedom.
His brother describes 62-year-old Michael Keenan as older looking and in need of sunlight but happy to be free. His first meal out of prison Thursday night was pizza.
He was freed after a judge dismissed the murder charge against him in the 1988 throat-slashing of a man in Cleveland. Prosecutors plan to appeal.
