Prosecutor Seeks Death for "Militia" Soldiers
Charged with murder to cover anti-government efforts
A Georgia prosecutor said he will seek the death penalty Thursday for three soldiers accused of killing two people to protect an alleged anti-government militia. The stepfather of one of the victims had to be restrained after a disturbance in court.
District Attorney Tom Durden announced in Long County Superior Court that he will seek the death penalty for Army Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon. The three Fort Stewart soldiers were arraigned on charges of malice murder, felony murder and criminal gang activity.
