Downing Street has reiterated that Wikileaks' founder Julian Assange will not be granted safe passage to Ecuador.

The government is still trying to find a diplomatic solution after Ecuador granted him asylum, the prime minister's official spokesman said.

In June, he took refuge in Ecuador's London embassy as he faced extradition to Sweden over sex assault claims.
