"We Might as Well Have Just Picked a Random Heritage Foundation Analyst" Says GOP Strategist
Not everyone is too thrilled about the Veep pick.
The statements of support for Romney's vice presidential selection are pouring in from groups on the right: the Club for Growth, Concerned Women for America, the Susan B. Anthony List, etc. It's a unanimously positive verdict.
Under the surface, there's also a lot of anxiety about Ryan's selection, particularly among the GOP strategists who are immersed in data on the 2012 campaign. The Ryan budget polls horrendously and in order for the pick to be a success, Romney and Ryan will have to do an aggressive sales job on their ideas for Medicare and Social Security.
