Warren Walks Back Tax Attack
Hesitant to release her own returns, Warren swallows her demand that Scott Brown publicize his taxes
Elizabeth Warren quickly retreated Tuesday from an earlier demand to see more of Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown's tax returns.
The Harvard professor had said Monday that Brown, the GOP incumbent she's challenging, should release tax returns for every year he has been in public service. …
Romney has released two years of tax returns; Democrats have demanded he release more. The Globe asked both Warren and Brown to release six years of returns in April. Brown allowed reporters to view six years of returns in his office, but Warren released only four. At the time, the Brown team alleged Warren was trying to hide something — the same charge Democrats have thrown at Romney.
