The Libertarian presidential candidate formally qualified to be included as a choice for Maine voters
Gary Johnson, the national Libertarian Party nominee for president, has turned in enough signatures to qualify for Maine's presidential ballot.
Volunteers for Johnson, who served as the Republican governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, submitted the petitions to qualify him on Friday. Johnson needed between 4,000 and 6,000 signatures; his supporters turned in 4,355, according to the Secretary of State's office.
