GM Posts $1.5B profit despite losses in Europe
The government-bailed-out company did exceedingly well in North America, home to the government that bailed it out
General Motors was slammed by second-quarter losses in Europe, but managed to post a second-quarter profit of $1.5 billion on strong North American earnings.
That was a drop of 41% from a year ago, but overall was better than Wall Street had expected.
