  Part of the problem is the name “Friday Funnies”. If it were “Friday Flap” or “Scenes from an Edwardian Lady’s Sketchbook” or something, then expectations wouldn’t be so high, and the comments so vicious

    Single panel cartoons are where humor goes to die. Gary Larson is the only person I can think of who could be consistently funny in the format.
