Who stapled the sides of Robin Williams’ head to each other? And why are Tracy Morgan’s ears so big?

Also, I think it needs more labels.

    Don’t get.

    1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

I thought that it was Jay Leno with finger potatoes glued to his head, and the Howard Stern show’s Beetlejuice?

      1. Bee Tagger   13 years ago

Don’t be ridiculous, that’s clearly George McFly.

        1. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

          George McFly’s not black!

Oh! the other one – right…

        2. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

Jay Leno, George McFly who cares?!

I just want to know why “Chip” decided to glue finger potatoes to the side of his head.

          1. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

You know who else glued finger potatoes to the side of his head….

            1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

              Mr. Po. Tay. Toe. Head?

              1. Mo' $parky   13 years ago

                Po. Tay. Toes.

            2. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

              Henry Payne?

    2. Just Dropping By   13 years ago

I thought it was David Lynch with the sides of his head stapled in.

  2. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

Nice use of purple tones in this drawing of a now superseded design for a wrench on the left, and the vagina dentata on the right

    1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

You do know that vagina dentata follows the mid-sagittal (vertical) plane? Not the coronal (horizontal) plane.

An Aussie dentist told me that. In fact, the same one that pulled out all her ex’s teeth not too long ago. And she is not a spunky sheila.

      1. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

I did know that. Could you please stop destroying my idiotic semi-pun with facts, knowledge, cleverness, etc?

        1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

Cleverness? You gave me a compliment! *blush*

You’re wish is my command, m’lady…

        2. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

And if you could teach me how to spell “Your”, I would be indebted.

          1. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

            that’s easy. Y-O-R-E

          2. Eduard van Haalen   13 years ago

You spelled it right, your handwriting was just hard to read.

      2. Mensan   13 years ago

I don’t mean to start an anatomy terminology argument again, BUT the coronal (or frontal) plane is vertical also.

        1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

Actually, you are correct, Mensan. Proper terminology would indeed be the axial plane. I visualized in my head in my head the corpus in the lithotomy position.

          I stand corrected.

    2. db   13 years ago

Wrench? I thought you folks called it a “spanner.”

      1. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

A no-frills tool, yes, I’d call that a spanner. But we do use “wrench” especially for the more arcane types

Also, I seem to use more Americanisms around here, presumably in an effort to be understood.

        1. Mo' $parky   13 years ago

Spend a little more time here and you’ll eventually be able to talk real good.

  3. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

    Jesus.

    1. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

For some reason, your concise, poignant plea made me laugh out loud.

      Thank you, GBN.

      1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

Anything I can do to help us through this dark time of humorless cartoonery.

        1. Suthenboy   13 years ago

humorless cartoonery…..are you referring to politics in general or the friday funnies?

          1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

False Choice there, Rajun’ Cajun’. You forgot the MSM, the real funhouse mirror of the American Psyche.

  4. Whiterun Guard   13 years ago

Man I wish I hadn’t let my subscription to Mainstream Press run out.

    1. Lord Humungus   13 years ago

      1. Fatty Bolger   13 years ago

        Too much.

  5. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

Those Muslims sure do like to stone each other, even in high school I guess.

  6. Longtorso   13 years ago

I won’t be able to make the morning links.

The IPCC: Going Where No Scientist Should Go
The next IPCC report will include a chapter that discusses gender inequality, marginalized populations, and traditional knowledge. So much for providing “rigorous?scientific information.”

    1. Mike M.   13 years ago

There are increasing signs that the weather Chicken Littles are about to finally give up on their failed attempts to ram through crap like the Kyoto Protocal and a global “Cap and Trade” system.

We’re going to be hearing less and less about the global warming non-issue as they shift gears.

    Needz moar labels.

  9. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

To the person with Virginia plates I saw recently:

Just because you have many horse themed bumper stickers doesn’t mean that a personal plate that says “Ilvhors” is going to be thought of by fellow drivers as equestrian related.

    True story.

    1. invisible furry hand   13 years ago

      now that’s a Friday Funny

    2. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

You owe me a new monitor. 🙂

    3. SugarFree   13 years ago

What’s the big deal? The driver just loves hors d’oeuvres.

      1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

Everyone knows the Italians taught the French how to cook. And ride horses.

        1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

          …and fuck.

          1. Mo' $parky   13 years ago

            Also, fried chicken?

    4. Bobarian   13 years ago

Now I have to order a vanity plate.

  10. SugarFree   13 years ago

I love the attempt to give Romney–a bland, unsalted cracker of a man–the intense stare of a deranged right-winger. If there is one thing that we know about Romney it’s that his positions are not fanatically held.

Whereas the smarm of the Obama one is dead-on.

    1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

What the fuck kind of drugs do you have to take to see some intentional subtle context in a Bok “drawing”?

      1. SugarFree   13 years ago

Just the usual handful of pills and injections that keeps my hollow semblance of life shambling forward.

        1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

Sounds like something I could use.

          Mmmmm, pills. Sweet, sweet pills…

          1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

Joke’s on you! Those are bath saltz…

            1. SugarFree   13 years ago

              FACE MEAT!

  11. Brian from Texas   13 years ago

They’re not so different in middle age either. In fact, they’re so interchangeable that if you’re a supporter of either one it shouldn’t matter to you which one wins in November.

    1. Bucky   13 years ago

      drugs much?

  12. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

Maybe we could all pitch in so Reason could afford to buy some used “Hi and Lois” or “Andy Capp” comics.

    You know, something less unfunny.

I guess that’s what the annual Begathon is all about. Apparently I didn’t give enough last year. That’s what this is about, isn’t it, “REASON” – if that’s you’re REAL name?

    1. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

Also, I MEANT to say “you’re” right there. MEANT it.

    2. John   13 years ago

I bet they could get Mary Worth cheap.

      1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

        Who didn’t?

    3. John   13 years ago

      Or classic Garfield.

  13. Almanian's Evil Twin   13 years ago

HEY, WHY DOESN’T EVERYONE JUST GO GLUE SOME FINGER POTATOES TO THE SIDES OF SOMEONE ELSE’S HEAD TODAY?! HUH?!!

    WHY NOT???!!!

    OK, I’ll leave now.

  14. Brian from Texas   13 years ago

This artist must have had a field day with Ross Perot 20 years ago, the way he draws Obama here.

    1. Loki   13 years ago

He’s probably just recycling old drawings of Perot and adding “blackface” to them.

  15. Mo' $parky   13 years ago

Viewing the Friday “Funnies” without reading the comments is like watching a ventriloquist on TV with Mute on.

    1. plu1959   13 years ago

You, sir, are the Friday Funny.

  16. db   13 years ago

Venezuela bans private firearm ownership. All the BBC can say about it is that “The ban is the latest attempt by the government to improve security and cut crime ahead of elections in October.” Also, they cite statistics on murder and crime rates in Venezuela. There is not one word about how Chavez and his cronies have increasingly tightened their grip and attempted to silence opposition. Not a peep about how other totalitarian regimes have made total civilian disarmament (which Chavez openly claims is his goal) a key part of their strategies for maintaining repressive power.

    1. SugarFree   13 years ago

      TRUST DEMOCRACY!

    2. John   13 years ago

Well it is not like draconian firearms restrictions haven’t worked in Mexico.

      1. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

They would except for the “gunshow loophole” we have here in the states.

        1. John   13 years ago

Well Eric Holder was trying to fix that until those damned Retuglicans stopped him.

          1. plu1959   13 years ago

            those damned Retuglicans

Hey, you no say that about Governor Christie!

            1. Groovus Maximus   13 years ago

              That’s a Retublican.

              1. Untempered Individualist   13 years ago

                *guffaw*

    3. General Butt Naked   13 years ago

What about the fact that in the egalitarian socialist paradise that Chavez has built there would be no need for crime, and that the New Communist Man would be above the petty boojwaz concerns that cause men to murder each other.

Guess the beatings will continue until morale improves. Hit ’em harder Cezar!

    4. Tim   13 years ago

Asaad told him it’s a hell of a lot easier to terrorize and summarily execute unarmed civillians.

      1. John   13 years ago

        THIS

    5. Loki   13 years ago

Not a peep about how other totalitarian regimes have made total civilian disarmament (which Chavez openly claims is his goal) a key part of their strategies for maintaining repressive power.

If they did that some of their British readers might start to wonder why they have such repressive gun control laws in their own country. Nope, it’s all about “security” and “cutting crime”.

  17. Troy muy grande boner   13 years ago

The cartoons are a lot like a black hole of cartoons. No humor can escape them and the suckage per cubic foot in unimaginable.

    1. Mo' $parky   13 years ago

The “cartoons” posted in the Friday Funnies thread are intentionally pulled from the worst of the worst. The real point of this weekly exercise is to allow the commentariat to flex their comedic muscle in an attempt to thoroughly excoriate the “artist” and introduce new memes into the collective.

      1. Untempered Individualist   13 years ago

introduce new memes into the collective

“The collective”? Ain’t no collective ’round here. Git!

        1. Bill   13 years ago

          You too, will be assimilated.

      2. Troy muy grande boner   13 years ago

The Friday Funnies are a non-surgical cure for an unwanted, painful priapism.

Question: Why is Nick G. always railing against hacky political cartoonists when he’s got two of the worst offenders right here at reason?

    1. Bobarian   13 years ago

It is a sarcastic and ironic commentary on the duality of political discourse in this country.

We just don’t get the joke.

  22. RigDaVig   13 years ago

That looks like it might just actually work. WOw.

For example, your tiny boy or very little lady may possibly be struggling with potty training, watching too a lot Tv, or needing a Hogan Outlet little bit extra attention from Mother and Dad. That awareness may perhaps only require to be an additional 15 minutes in Mom’s lap, but it can make all the difference for your minor a person.
