Cabins Selling Out Quickly! Register Today for Reason's Alaska Cruise August 11-18, 2012!
Reason will take to the high seas in 2012 for our second annual cruise—and this time, we'll explore the magnificent Gulf of Alaska August 11-18 aboard Holland America's luxurious Westerdam!
You'll have the chance to talk with Nadine Strossen, one of America's most respected civil libertarians. During her 17 years at the helm of the ACLU, Strossen become known for her opposition to the regulation of free expression, including hate speech, pornography, media violence, and campaign expenditures. Joining Strossen will be Columbia University professor Eli Noam, whose research in tele-information illustrates how technology is changing the way we communicate.
Other speakers on this year's Reason cruise include Reason editor in chief Matt Welch, Reason.tv editor in chief Nick Gillespie, pioneering UC Santa Barbara evolutionary psychologists Leda Cosmides and John Tooby, alternative American historian Thaddeus Russell, Reason senior editors Jacob Sullum and Peter Suderman, and Reason economic columnist and Mercatus Center senior research fellow Veronique de Rugy.

Come aboard, we're expecting you.
A headshot of Nadine Strossen is supposed to get me to drop 1500 bucks on a cruise? Really? Isn't this why lobster girl was invented?
lobster girl was actually invented with the aim to reduce the cost of carbon nanotube production, but as with many inventions, her actual application is different.
Do the cabins come with STEVE SMITH-proof doorlocks?
No locks are proof against STEVE SMITH, but your best bet is SELD-M-RAPED Brand.
Tell me Kennedy is in and I'm THERE!
Will you be passing the bong once in international waters?
Will part of the cruise be dedicated to throwing shitty books about Ron Paul overboard?
People with shitty glass blogs really shouldn't be throwing stones.
Hope you have that Italian Captain who likes to wave to people on the shore.
"Nadine Strossen, one of America's most respected civil libertarians"
I hear after a few drinks, she's not all that civil.
So, you guys are the pothead, anarco-currency cop haters, right?
I'll pass.
THE DUTCHY ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE! Count me in, freakers!
Where does Ms. Strossen stand on economic liberty, property rights, federalism, and the Commerce Clause? If memory serves, she, like the ACLU generally, is quite statist and pro-regulation on these issues. If I am wrong, please cite me material to the contrary.
What I DON'T want to hear about this cruise is a story of a couple being arrested for libertarian behavior in another country, who are then left behind by the cruise ship. Now THAT would be bad press.
So how do they come up with all this stuff? I dont get it man.
