  1. Alack   13 years ago

That is one of the greatest things I have ever heard.

  2. Brutus   13 years ago

Holy shit, it's like the corona of the sun as it emerges from behind a total eclipse!

    1. Death Rock and Skull   13 years ago

      Dick Clark was the rapture.

  3. ChrisO   13 years ago

It certainly took ol' Shep awhile to figure that out.

  4. plu1959   13 years ago

    Now he knows this?

  5. sticks   13 years ago

    Did he just other politics?*

  6. Episiarch   13 years ago

Can't WTFV at work. Anyone care to quote what he said?

    1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

Politics is weird. And creepy. And has nothing to do with reality. Something like that.

      1. Episiarch   13 years ago

        YOUR SUMMARY GROWS TIRESOME

Where's The Summarizer when I need him?

        1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

He read something about Romney and his wife loving Newt and his wife. Then he said the above.

          1. Episiarch   13 years ago

You may not touch my monkey.

            1. Francisco d Anconia   13 years ago

              May I dance instead?

        2. Hell's Librarian   13 years ago

Seriously, that is exactly what he said, with the deadest of deadpan faces.

          1. Joe M   13 years ago

"...and now I know lacks even the loosest attachment to anything like reality."

            1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

It's such beautiful language. Really, he should set it to song.

              1. Hell's Librarian   13 years ago

I have to admit, I felt a tingle down my leg when he said it.

                1. Pi Guy   13 years ago

Saw "...felt a trickle down my leg..." on first read.

        3. Death Rock and Skull   13 years ago

Shepard Smith: "There is a political and spooky, strange, I know that lack even the loosest attachment to something like a reality now."

[Picture darkens, momentary silence, credits roll, lime's in the coconut]

    2. AlmightyJB   13 years ago

Mitt called Newt friend. Shep called all pols liars.

      1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

        Lies. Then truth.

    3. darius404   13 years ago

      Shep Smith-

Politics is weird. And creepy. And now I know lacks even the loosest attachment to anything like reality.

  7. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

You know, that actually was fair and balanced.

    1. Pro Libertate   13 years ago

And awesome. Man, if only news anchors would say that sort of thing more often.

      1. Ryan   13 years ago

Yeah, that's the kind of top notch commentary one only finds in 4 year olds.

  8. AlmightyJB   13 years ago

Now, if he could just stop taking himself so seriously.

  9. Death Rock and Skull   13 years ago

Oh shit. This man's life or career may be in danger. Yep.

  10. MachineGunBodine   13 years ago

Yes, he's so honest & wise. And he thinks Obama's dreamy too.

    1. Randian   13 years ago

      [citation needed]

  11. Fist of Etiquette   13 years ago

    Speaking of weird and creepy.

    1. Hell's Librarian   13 years ago

No way, that was funny as hell.

  12. sloopyinca   13 years ago

This is why Shep Smith is the best anchor on news TV. He just flat doesn't give a fuck sometimes and calls people out on their over-the-top bullshit.

    1. Francisco d Anconia   13 years ago

      Shep

Might need to manually move the slider a bit to get the vid to play.

    2. A Mathematician   13 years ago

I think Megan Kelly is better but her show is on in the middle of the day.

    3. Monty Crisco   13 years ago

Bret Baier ain't bad and he is the only to have actually INTERVIEWED Obama (as opposed to suck his dick) since he came into office (as opposed to the fawning media's mouth...)

  13. Pope Synchronicity II   13 years ago

    Why can't I stop watching?

  14. db   13 years ago

I nearly shed a tear watching this.

  15. Kaptious Kristen   13 years ago

I wonder how many of my Facebook friends will see the headline and be apoplectic and refuse to watch.

  16. Abdul   13 years ago

Some intern is paying another $20 and saying "Sorry you got fired, but you proved your point. They really will read any old shit on the teleprompter."

  17. Kolohe   13 years ago

Shep will every so often, but with some regularity, go off script. It's what makes his show one of the few watchable cable news shows.

  18. TheZeitgeist   13 years ago

I remember when Shep was on a round table discussion back in the Shrubbery days and he went off then too: "WE (we being the USA) DO NOT FUCKING TORTURE!" Shep said banging the round table as the old gizzards looked around at each other, confused at such an aberration of clarity.

I've liked Shep ever since. Its out there on the intertubes somewhere, I'm just too lazy to look.

    1. darius404   13 years ago

It's here. I don't know much about him, but these two videos have made me a fan.

  19. Robert   13 years ago

Wha'd he say? I've got no audio or video capability.

    1. darius404   13 years ago

      Here you go:

      Shep Smith-

Politics is weird. And creepy. And now I know lacks even the loosest attachment to anything like reality.

      1. darius404   13 years ago

That was right after he read a statement from Romney to the effect that Romney and Newt are now friends and look forward to working together.

  20. TingoZing   13 years ago

OK see that makes no sene at all dude, None.

    http://www.Privacy-Guys.tk

  21. Ryan   13 years ago

Other than this being slightly unusual and his amusing choice of expression, there's nothing interesting about this. What's that saying? Even broken people are right occasionally.

  22. fabius   13 years ago

he then raised his eyes to the heavens and said something about how delightfully weird and not at all creepy things are in Oxford, Miss., and shouted "Hotty mother fuckin Toddy!"...I assume.

  23. Monty Crisco   13 years ago

    (As Spicoli)
    "AWESOME! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!"

  24. NL_   13 years ago

Much like jazz, the magic of this clip is not in what he says, it's in the pauses between his words.

It's like one of those stroke-like migraines that makes reporters babble. Except instead of accidentally speaking gibberish, Shep accidentally had a human reaction.

  25. han   13 years ago

    A very good article.
