Nick Gillespie Talks GOP-Paul Ryan Budget on Fox Business' Varney & Co.
Earlier today, I was on the great Fox Business show Varney & Co., talking with host Stuart Varney.
Here's the writeup:
"If Democrats are complaining that Paul Ryan's budget doesn't spend enough," says Reason's Nick Gillespie, "the real problem is it spends too much."
Gillespie appeared on Fox Business' Varney & Co. to discuss the controversial budget plan. Gillespie notes that Ryan's plan envisions the feds spending $3.5 trillion in fiscal year 2013 and $4.9 trillion in 2022. In no year does revenue match outlays, guaranteeing deficits and higher debt. "Paul Ryan's budget says we're going to spend an average of 20 percent of GDP each year for the next decade while bringing in 18 percent of GDP on average….It's better than Obama's plan, but it ain't good."
More on the Ryan budget here.

THIS IS LIKE THE WORST CHAT ROOM EVER.
I think I heard means testing suggested in there somewhere. Stuart is incredulous.
Why can't they just freeze spending at current levels until revenues catch up? That requires no brainpower, which is about what they have.
Because arguing over arguable future variables is interesting.
Saying "hey, by any rational standard, we have no money, at all," shuts down all conversation. And punditry without conversation is like sex without penetration; weird and boring.
Because according to democrats (and many republicans when it comes to stuff they like), if you don't spend more you are actually cutting spending. And this can cost lives and cause the world to end. And as we saw under Reagan, even if you increase spending by 4%, that is really a cut because you did not increase it 7% like they wanted.
Because our leaders need more money to buy more votes.
Abolish the wages system
go back to forced labor!
Paul Ryan is yet another repube fraud. whoop-dee-doo.
Once again:
The republican party must be destroyed.
(oh, and for the sophomoric, nerdy, dot-the-i crowd here, let me add: and the demothugs must be destroyed)
