On Feb. 13, Reason Editor in Chief Matt Welch appeared on a new segment of RT's The Alyona Show called "Monday Hangover," where he and young smarty Jake Brewer talked about Barack Obama's fictitious new budget, the lack of institutional brakes on military spending, and more. Watch below:

The Buffet Rule:
Pander to socialists by claiming to desire higher taxes, when, in fact, the Federal Government accepts voluntary monetary gifts all along.
Obama's budget is purely populist. And according to NBC, more Americans favor Obama over any of the Republican presidential candidates. And Tea Party types favor Rick Santorum over Ron Paul.
Americans are truly stupid assholes.
Every bell curve has two sides.
I know I am but what are you?
Wait, wait, wait, I'm confused here. Are you the bell curve, American, or one of the sides?
My Buffet rule is I'm always going back for seconds, and occasionally even thirds.
Just when I was complimenting him on the Freedom Watch thread for dressing schmick, Welch ruins it with his white Urkel look.
Matt's sweater is just another fabulous freebie he obtained while participating in that fabulous free French health care system about which he's written so eloquently in the past:

Are you suggesting the sweater is riddled with small pox?
I don't think there is any question about Matt's sweater, but Alyona seems to be wearing an extra shirt and her zipper is unfashionably high.
I guess the purple/green tie and pink shirt combo was being cleaned.
But seriously, of all the questionable things Matt does you really need to pick on his sweater?
If there are that many questionable things he does, all the more reason to apply that sound principle, the division of labour. And I have nobly stepped up to carry my share of the load
My Dad had a sweater like that. He got it from my grandfather who got it from Noah.
Sweater? Thanks Rick Santorum!
What am I, chopped liver?
"Throw the [Tax] Code out..."
Jake Brewer is my new hero, so much so that I can forgive him Goat Boy and Half Baked.
As Alyona says austerity isn't working out for Greece and the UK, watch Jake and Matt's reactions. Brewer doesn't appear to be as used to statements like that as Welch.
She's right. Austerity never works out for politicians in a democracy, whose only goal appears to be getting elected. On the other hand, austerity worked wonders for Lenin and Stalin.
Is that the context they're speaking in? I'll have to watch that last bit again. I know they were talking about what's politically best earlier, so I might have missed it.
Honestly FOE, my company blocks YouTube. I was merely going on your statement, and the fact that it is RT. I don't even know why people call it austerity. Not paying one's bills is the height of irresponsibility.
As Alyona says austerity isn't working out for Greece and the UK,
As you ramp down leverage/government borrowing, the economy will contract. No way around it. After you work out the excess leverage, the economy will grow again, better than before.
They are still in the early stage. Saying its "not working" is like giving someone pneumonia an antibiotic shot and saying 5 minutes later that its not working.
I have a rasta colors argyle sweater. I wear it to work all the time.
Wears Questionable Sweater
Nothing is questionable after Nick Gillespie mustache phase. I still have nightmares.
