I would like to see somebody point out to the assembled masses that if they want to continue to pretend Social Security is in some way "self-supporting" they probably shouldn't be de-funding it.
Good point. MNG is correct that the republicans are being very hypocritical in not supporting extending the payroll tax cut, but the democrats are just as hypocritical for now treating it like any other welfare program after spending decades duping people into believing that it's a pension that they're owed.
On a purely personal note, I really hope they extend that payroll tax cut. Having to kick an extra thousand to Unca Sammy again next year will seriously blow with a second kid on the way.
